The Community Development Authority (CDA) Housing Operations Division works in conjunction with the City of Madison as the lead public entity in greater Madison, offering HUD low-income subsidized housing within the City of Madison limits. 

The CDA owns and operates 742 units of Public Housing and 115 units of Multifamily Housing in the City of Madison for families, seniors, and people with disabilities. CDA Housing inlcudes apartment buildings, townhouses, duplexes, single-family homes, and barrier-free units for physically disabled persons. These properties are federally funded through the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which requires smoke-free housing.
